My current skincare

Let me start off by saying that I do not have problem skin, I'm just insanely sensitive to the products I may try so I have to be overly careful. With that said, I have found a few staples that work in my routine & none of them break the bank.  Previously I used the Clarisonic Mia 2 but I returned it since I saw no real change in my skin & couldn't justify the cost if I didn't see a huge difference. I use these products once a day (at night) but should probably graduate to twice, hopefully when I stop being lazy.

First, I remove my eye makeup using the Sonia Kashuk Remove and a Shiseido Facial Cotton, the absolute softest cotton for your face that I've ever used.
Next I use whichever makeup wipes I have lying around & remove any makeup from the day.
I follow that with my Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser or Origins Checks and Balances, I switch off almost everyday & really don't see a difference but I do love that both of these foam so well & feel great on my skin.
My next step is the Boots expert sensitive gentle refreshing toner which I apply to a small cotton pad & wipe all over my face.
Finally, after my face is dry I add my favorite product, the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream and I'm done. So there you have it, my night time mix of drugstore & high end skincare routine; after this I turn the lights out and go to bed and my face feels amazing for the next day!

My weekend Ulta Haul

Over the weekend I enjoyed a visit from my best friend MorningCupofBlog & of course we planned to get pedicures & a trip to Ulta. I had tons of things on my mind that I wanted to pick up but I knew that I realistically needed to narrow it down. I didn't need anything but I'd been eyeing a moisturizer & some nail polish additions so those were my targets.

Over on the polish aisle I was searching for essie Peach Daiquiri & OPI Dutch Tulips since I had just fallen in love with this shade while getting a pedicure earlier. I've also been really into purples so I picked up Sally Hansen Lacy Lavendar, which is absolutely gorgeous on the nails! I also stopped in the beauty section of CVS and snatched up Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Grey Area & can't wait to see how beautiful it is out of the bottle.

I've been searching for a matte brown eyeshadow for blending our my shimmery shadows & thought I had found one with "Deep Bronze", but when I checked it out at home it did have glitter so the search continues. I don't have many lip liners so I wanted to grab Nude or Natural, so after swatching them I settled on "Natural".

Finally, I made my way over to the Benefit skin care section to meet & greet with the moisturizer that I'd been lusting after. I opened the jar & it was everything and more of what I wanted it to be.  I started out with the sample size to find out how my skin reacts but so far so good & I can't wait to buy the full size, which is $38.

Thanks for checking out my blog, Enjoy!

My daily skincare routine

This blog post is gonna be: All about my Skincare. A little back story on me is that I have never had problem skin or skin issues, even as a teen. I have always received compliments on my skin & never wore makeup on my face until a little after Summer time, last year. Through my journey this past (almost) year, my skin has had a few issues with reactions to products & in general I have wondered how long it would be before I started seeing effects of aging. So in an effort to extend my skin's glow I've begun purchasing products to better my skin.

Up until a year ago I never used soap on my face and even after starting to wear makeup I would go to bed with all day makeup still on. I was sure that this couldn't go on forever so I've purchased a few things to help me with bettering my skin & removing my makeup each night.

The products I use:
1. Sonia Kashuk - Remove - $9.99 Target + Target Cotton Pads
2. Yes to Cucumbers Cleanser - Sensitive Skin - $9.99 Ulta
3. Clarisonic Mia 2 - Coral - $149 Ulta
(Day)   4. Simple Vital Vitamin Day Cream SPF 15 - $9.99 Target
(Night) 5. Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator (sample) - Full size - $36.00

It's as simple as doing steps 1-4 in the Morning & steps 1-5 at Night. I can't say that the Clarisonic has changed my life because as I said above I wasn't trying to fix anything, just really get a deep clean. In the past month that I've had it I did experience dry patches on my face but with the Clinique Hydrator it cleared right up so I really have no complaints. I have been so good about using it each night & really look forward to that 1minute of face cleansing!
